Tell Me What I Need to Know!!!

Monday, August 21st, 2006

And now for some 24 rumors!

Spoiler warning! (by request)

First, Fox has confirmed they have been talking to the city of New York to have parts of the next season filmed there. This would be the first time Jack Bauer has saved another city besides Los Angeles.

However, the New York Times reported that in an interview with Kiefer Sutherland (the actor that plays Jack Bauer in the Fox series (duh)), Kiefer says that Jack will be much more concerned with “…saving his own ass” in the next season. So this may be the first time Jack doesn’t worry about saving a city at all. While the last season left off with Jack in a frieghter bound for China, Fox has already said that there will not be time to have the season appear in an over-seas location. Obviously, the show can not take place in both New York and Los Angeles, because of time constrants, unless the writers seperate the actors in two different cities. While possible, this is unlikely.

The same NY Times article revealed that Kiefer’s real name is Kiefer William Frederick Dempsey George Rufus Sutherland. Damn… There’s a mouthful.

Lastly, Regina King was cast to play Wayne Palmer’s wife. Who is Regina King? Well, she was in Miss Congeniality 2 and does several voices on the Cartoon Network show Boondocks. Um, yeah… Who cares! Fans of the show just like to know Wayne Palmer will be back, and that his wife might allow for some more of those “Sherry Palmer moments” we so enjoy.

For the record, Jack is up to 112 kills in the five seasons (not including killing himself that one time) and 44 in the last season, which is more than any previous. Only four chartacters have been in all four seasons (alive), Jack Bauer himself, Tony Almeida, David Palmer and Aaron Pierce. Only Aaron and Jack remain alive for season five (so far). These facts are also from the NY Times article, which I highly encourage fans to check out.

Vonage Softphone?

Sunday, August 13th, 2006

I will first reference afew sources. Namely, Engadget, and Scott Stuff. Both blogs quote the folks at Vonage, proclaiming that the Palm softphone is imminent.

Unfortunetly, one posting is a year old, and the other is almost two! At work I have been promised a Treo 700p (I live in Houston, and communication continuity is of great importance, due to our ocassional hurricanes). My Vonage account is great and all, but the ability to get a call on my cellphone over Vonage voip would be much prefered. I have quite afew phone numbers that I want to keep, and it would be really cool to transfer them to vonage and use them on my work handset.

Exhausting all imaginable search combinations on my quest to find a softphone for my future Palm, I wonder if anyone that runs accross this post might know anything about the softphone hold-up with Vonage. Sad thing is, I hear they have a softphone for the Windows Mobile version of the Treo 700! Blah!

Well, I’m done ranting… For now.

Sorry about the week long lag between posts, I’ve been hella busy with my new job. Hopefully things will calm down as we get closer to the start of school. So far I seem to be breaking things faster than i can fix them. -_- (sigh)

I’m Indexed!

Thursday, August 3rd, 2006

Google -finally- indexed me! If you can’t find a website using google, why bother being on the Internet, right?

So it seems my 15 minutes of fame is gone (in regard to the Wamu outage). Oh well. Atleast I got a chance to rag on ASP .Net *sips Haterade*.

How bout them astros huh? Don’t want to jinx it, but I hope we can stay on a roll. With Morgan there to backup Berkman, we should see quite abit of improvement.

Too bad Berkman’s NOT PLAYING! -_-
